MISSY
She came from the 5 A's animal shelter. She was so scared and frightened when we got her that she wouldn't hardly go outside to potty. She was so afraid we wouldn't let her back in, she couldn't go! It was so pitiful. She finally overcame it, but she did have her problems. She ate EVERYTHING! She was just so scared, afraid, or whatever when we left that she would chew anything she could get her teeth on. Furniture, cords, rugs, fringe on rugs, eyeglasses, tables, woodwork, you name it. We had never used a crate before, so we were a little apprehensive about it. But she took right to it, and the destructive behavior stopped. Like most of our dogs, she lived a happy life to a ripe old age.
She would let you dress her up in anything. She seemed to thrive on attention, so when we dressed her up, she knew more people with pets and applause and attention wouldn't be far behind. She pulled sleds, wagons, anything. We used to have a small wagon I mounted a trash can in. She pulled it around a several block area, and we picked up trash. Made for good public relations, and made the neighborhood look good!
We used to belong to a Mixed Breed Dog Club. They had a Halloween party, and Missy went as Will Steger, the Arctic Explorer. She had a bandanna on, along with a backpack and even patiently wore GOGGLES! Another dog came dressed as a Unicorn. They got along, and the other dog kept poking poor Missy with his horn. Good thing Missy had her goggles on!
