MEET ANOTHER ELKHOUND

AKC registered name: Loki Lyn Lookin' for Trouble CGC,  TDIA, TDIAOV
Moosedog Halloween Contest Winner--October, 1999 (See our Holiday page!)
This is Loki at age 13 - still cute as ever.

Loki was born April 3, 1993. She is one of those dogs who will do almost anything you want her to do.  She is very laid back and lets us dress her up in silly outfits.

She is very dainty - we call her the "Fairy Princess".  She takes food from your hand very delicately - not a typical Elkhound in that respect.  She never met a person OR a dog she didn't like. It upsets her if we scold one of the other dogs - she doesn't like it and will leave the room.

Loki is very interested in cows, especially the black and white ones (Holsteins).  She loves to go for a drive in the country to find cows so she can bark at them. Once we visited a farm and she actually met a calf up close - and she kissed it on the nose! Now that we live in the Ozarks, we see cows almost every time we take a trip, so she is really happy!

Another time we were going down the Interstate, and she started barking - we looked and she was barking at a big painted cow on a Prairie Farms Dairy truck!

Loki is a registered Therapy Dog and has earned her TDIAOV title for making over 150 visits.  We currently visit two nursing homes and a children's facility every month.

January 2007 - This photo of Loki won a photo contest at the local Wal-Mart.
Contest theme was winter scenes.  Loki was 13 in this picture.
Notice the stripes in her coat - elkhounds seem to acquire these stripes as they age.

She sure is a happy girl!

Blowing bubbles. She has always loved the swimming pool.

The residents look forward to the dogs coming, and the dogs enjoy the visits!

Who is happier about this visit?!
