MEET ANOTHER ELKHOUND

Elkie was born December 16, 1996.  She is one of three littermates we brought back from Ames, Iowa. From the start, she was a very affectionate little girl.  While the other dogs were out playing in the yard, she would be trying to climb into someone's lap.  Elkie loves the couch and spends many hours resting there upside down.  She loves to run, too, and has been one of our best sled dogs.  She likes to pull the sled and the Sacco cart.  She has also visited nursing homes where she put her sweet personality to good use. Elkie could go more places, but she has always been afraid of riding in the car, and becomes very upset at the thought of going anywhere!  If she wasn't so fearful, she could have gone on lots of great vacations!

AKC Registered Name: Elkie Number Two of Three

Not only sweet, but cute as a bug!

Elkie (here with her friend Gene) is the smallest Elkhound we have.
But that doesn't mean she isn't full of love!

January 2000 - Our first snow of the winter!
Elkhounds love snow and cold weather.

Elkie loves to snuggle in the bed.

Pull up a chair and make yourself at home!

Elkie's favorite buddy is Barney

Since we moved to the Ozarks, Elkie spends lots of time looking for squirrels out the windows.
Here she's watching  Ryker, who waits to come in!

She knows how to relax!
